Ritz Cinema (Thirsk) Limited – General Terms and Conditions


General Admissions

Entry to films is restricted by the classification given by the British Board of Film Classification. We are expected to refuse admission to anyone who contravenes the relevant classification.

Anyone can be admitted to films classified as U. For a PG film it is for a parent or guardian of a child to review available information and decide on the appropriate nature of the film for their child.

Children under twelve can be admitted to films classified as 12A but only if accompanied by an adult.

Nobody under the age of fifteen can be admitted to films classified as 15.

Nobody under the age of eighteen can be admitted to films classified as 18.

In addition, Ritz Cinema (Thirsk) Limited limits access to the balcony area. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under eight must at all times be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Ritz Cinema volunteers may require customers to provide proof of age. The Ritz Cinema reserve the right to ask for such proof at any time patrons are on our premises.

If a ticket is purchased before we know its classification and the customer is not old enough to be admitted to the screening we will issue them with a full refund.

No alcoholic drinks may be consumed or brought into the cinema building. Only food and drink purchased in the cinema can be consumed in the cinema.

We operate a no smoking policy in line with government guidance. Additionally, for the comfort of customers we do not permit vaping, or the use electronic cigarettes in the cinema.

The published film may be subject to change at the discretion of the cinema.

Very occasionally due to a technical failure we may not be able to show a film. In this circumstance customers are entitled to a full refund or a complimentary ticket for any future showing.

We take no responsibility for programme information advertised by third parties.

We accept no responsibility for any personal property that is brought to a cinema.


Behaviour

Mobile phones must be switched off before the start of the main feature. Alternatively set to silent and vibrate. Any opening of a message or other response must take place outside the auditorium.

No recording of the film, on any device or medium is permitted. The Ritz Cinema adheres to the FACT legislation and prosecutions will be carried out if a recording of a film is found on the premises.

Customers arriving more than 15 minutes after the start of the film may, at our discretion, be denied entry.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or require you to leave the premises without a refund if you:

-Behave in an abusive, anti-social, threatening, or disruptive manner towards other customers or our volunteers.

-Put the safety of our customers, our volunteers, or our property at risk.

-Are under the influence of drink or drugs.

-If you breach these terms and conditions.

We cannot guarantee that the website will be always entirely correct.

The materials on the website are owned by or licensed to us and may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way without our consent.

The website may contain links to other websites. We do not endorse these sites, such links are provided solely for your convenience, and you access them at your own risk.


In Person Transactions

We accept the following forms of payment for the purchase of your tickets and refreshments:

-Cash in pounds Sterling.

-Credit and debit cards approved by us and our credit card supplier.

-Complimentary ticket issued by Ritz Cinema (Thirsk) Limited

-Completion of a Ritz Cinema (Thirsk) Limited loyalty card.


Online Transactions

As a general principle The Ritz Cinema (Thirsk) Limited is unable to refund online bookings.

We may, with at least 24hrs notice, and at our discretion, cancel a ticket booked online and issue a complimentary ticket to allow the holder to visit another presentation.

We cannot refund the online booking fee.


Privacy Policy

Ritz Cinema (Thirsk) Limited does not currently hold any data appertaining to our customers. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a Not-For-Profit organisation who solely keeps data relating to its volunteers, and only then in sufficient detail to operate as a volunteer run cinema.

Any online data retained is done so by our ticketing partners Savoy Systems and is only sufficient to allow the effective running of a online ticketing system.


Cookie Policy

Ritz Cinema (Thirsk) Limited does not operate its own cookies. We do use Google Analytics. These  Terms and Conditions may be amended by us at any time.
